This alternative probably gives the hospital the best combination of flexibility and protection. First, it does not obligate the hospital to engage BHS to perform the work, which could be expensive. At the same time, the hospital has the benefit of BHS' expertise in reviewing the specifications and, presumably, not approving projects that are likely to adversely affect the system.
